Optical and thermal studies of Zn1−xMgxSe crystals

The optical (such as absorption coefficient, linear refractive index, real and imaginary parts of dielectric constants and energy band gap) and thermal (such as diffusivities, effectivities and conductivities) properties of ZnSe and Zn0.87Mg0.13Se crystals grown by the modified high-pressure Bridgman method were studied using spectroscopic ellipsometry combined with transmittance measurements and photopyroelectric technique.

From the measurements performed, one can conclude that the incorporation of Mg as constituent into ZnSe crystals plays a crucial role in the observation of the optical and thermal response.
